The iconic Jama Masjid is the obvious first choice for anyone seeking to visit a Muslim pilgrimage site in Delhi followed by the sacred tomb of Nizamuddin Auliya. It is such a divine occurring that in the labyrinthine of Nizamuddin area, people do not get lost but find the most anticipated peace of mind. The dargah is, in fact, one of the most-visited destinations in Delhi not only by the Muslim pilgrim but by tourists of all faiths.
Apart from these two important Muslim sacred sites, Delhi boasts of several others that will be able to grab your attention with its unsurpassed peace and quaintness. The Chirag-i-Dilli Dargah; Khwaja Qutub Bakhtiyar Kaki; and Bibi Fatima Sam’s Dargah make for other important mausoleums for devotees to offer prayers in Delhi. On the other side, there a number of old and new mosques that give any Muslim pilgrim a sense of being close to Allah. The Fatehpuri Mosque near Chandni Chowk; the deserted yet serene Moth ki Masjid; and the Khirki Masjid in Malviya Nagar, also get their fair share of attention from the tourists as well as devotees. There are some lesser known yet ancient mosques in Delhi which are worth visiting like Masjid Kalu Sarai in Vijay Mandal Enclave; Begumpuri Masjid in Malviya Nagar; Chauburji Masjid in Civil Lines; Madhi Masjid and Jamali Kamali Masjid in Mehrauli.
