Deer Park Delhi

There can be innumerable parks and the same number of reasons for loving them, but Deer Park somehow has an edge over them. A prized possession of South Delhi, the park is known for having all the good things nestled in its realms like Hauz Khas Art Market, gardens, parks and ancient monuments. The park stretches its arms around Hauz Khas and other nearby places and hence is easily accessible from Green Park and Safdarjung Enclave. Every part of the Deer Park takes travellers for an all-new adventure where one part of it is dipped in history and has monuments like Bagh-I-Alam Ka Gumbad, Mosque belonging to the Lodhi period, and a square Tomb from the Lodhi Period. Moving further from here, the next section is of the deer after whom the park is named and are seen wandering and playing in the surrounding area. Besides, there is a small part of the park which is shared by rabbits and a popular tank which is home to white and black ducks. The tank is believed to be built in 1295 by Alauddin Khilji for his army but soon became dry. Later it was revamped by Firoz Shah Tughlaq who named it Hauz Khas. There are a few restaurants snuggled in the park and make it a complete joy ride for travellers when they are done exploring the park to the fullest.

Deboarding at Hauz Khas metro station is the easiest way to reach Deer Park. The metro station comes under the Yellow and Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro and is located some 2.9km away from the park.
