Anand Sagar Lake Banswara
Best referred to as Bai Talaab, the artificial lake of Anand Sagar on the eastern side of Banswara is one of the most talked about lakes in the state of Rajasthan. Adorned by the serried rows of spiritual trees- Kalpa Briksha and enveloped in serenity, this lake was said to have been by built by Maharawana Jagaml’s Rani: Lalchi Bai.
Encompassed by the peaceful tombs of the bygone rulers, Anand Sagar stationed some 2 kilometers from the district of Banswara. Also coined as Phati Khan, the occult cave of Ram Kund beneath the hills is surrounded by the majestic hills and trails, it also find its mention in the epic text of Ramayana which talks of Lord Ram halting here in for some time during his exile of fourteen years. Ram Kund is the nearby tourist attraction from the lake. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Madareshwar Temple rests inside the mystic caves atop the hill hypnotizing pilgrims from all across.
Gaining spiritual importance for housing the black idol of Goddess Tripura with her 18 hands, Tripura Sundari is one of the Shakti Peeth and is thereby one of the must visit places when in and around the Anand Sagar Lake.
