Kaila Devi Temple Karauli

The temple is located in the village of Kaila Devi in Karauli district of Rajasthan. The temple is situated on the banks of River Kalisil which is a tributary of River Banas in the Aravali hills.

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kaila Devi who is the tutelary deity of the Jadon Rajput rulers of Karauli state. The temple is made up of marble and has a large courtyard with checkered flooring. At one place of the temple, people can see only red flags planted by the devotees. The flags are offered by the devotees along with bhog every year. The most exciting and attractive thing that happens in the temple is the bhajan which is sung by the bhajagt ji every night at 09:00PM. In the month of Chaitra, devotees come from different states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh by foot to visit the temple and seek blessings of the goddess.

The temple is built in a proper way to ensure every facility to the devotees who visit the temple every day, every month and every year. Every year in the Hindu month of Chaitra a fair is held in the village of Kaila Devi which is attended by a huge number of people some of whom comes to enjoy the fair while others come to visit the temple. Some come on foot while some prostrate all through the way. People have huge and unshakeable faith on the deity and hence do these rigorous rituals to reach the temple. There is a spacious courtyard in the temple which becomes the venue for thousands of devotees who come to the temple.

History of the Attraction

There is no history as such about the temple. The temple is in Barkat Nagar of Kaila Devi Village. The temple has three statues- one is of Kaila Devi, second is of Bhomiya Ji and the third is of Bheru Ji Maharaj. The temple also hosts a yatra every year in the month of bhadrapad. The day to day religious and charitable activities are controlled and governed by the Kaila Devi Trust.

The village is well connected with the major railway station of Gangapur which is connected with other cities of the country. Buses are also available to reach the temple.
