Malai Mandir Delhi

Malai Mandir which is also popularly known as the Uttara Swami Malai Mandir, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Swaminatha. Situation in Delhi, the temple is visited by a throng of devotees that are mostly from Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam speaking communities in Delhi. Situated on a small hill, the Malai Mandir is constructed entirely out of granite stone in a South Indian architectural style. Visiting the place one could reminisce about the buildings of the Chola era which gives the tourists an opportunity to relive the history. Apart from paying visit to the main Malai Mandir Temple one could make a visit to the other complex dedicated to the elder brother, father and mother of Lord Murugan.

SPACIOUS STRUCTURE

Entering the temple, one would come across the idols of Lord Karpaga Vigner, on the left side. Also the idols of Goddess Meenakshi, and Shri Rudreshwar who were elder brother, mother and father of Lord Swaminath. The walls and the roof of the temple are beautifully decorated with amazing art work. Moving ahead, there is a magnificent hall which is named as Adi Swami Hall. The front staircase leads to yet another temple of Lord Swaminath which is also the main temple of the complex. One could witness the beautiful paintings of various deities on the walls of the temple. Last but not the least, on the right side of the temple, there is a space where cultural programmes are organised.
