Travel Uttarakhand by Air

Uttarakhand is yet to develop better air connectivity. Currently, the state has only two operational airports, one in Dehradun called Jolly Grant and the other in Pantnagar. The airport in Dehradun has good domestic connectivity and has flights that operate from here to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur etc. On the other hand, Pantnagar airport is only connected to Delhi that too through a charter plane. Apart from these two, there is an airport in Pithoragarh, Naini Saini, which will soon be open to the public and shall connect Dehradun in a flight of only 25 - 30 minutes. Just to provide the tourists extra benefit there are charter companies who provide chopper services from Phata to the famed pilgrimage site, Kedarnath. Helicopter services and private jets are also available from Dehradun and Haridwar for the devotees who want to perform Chardham or Do Dham pilgrimage.
