Travel Uttarakhand by Road

Uttarakhand has a decent road connectivity to almost all its destinations. This makes even the high altitude destinations quite accessible. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) has a viable cluster of buses connecting most parts of the state as well as cities like Delhi. From normal roadways buses which have cheap fare to luxury buses, UTC runs regular buses to all the important destinations in Uttarakhand. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) also runs buses to many destinations in Uttarakhand including Haldwani.

Apart from this cabs are available that can be hired to reach any part of the state. The well-maintained roads consist few of the National Highways such as NH-7 which connects Uttarakhand with Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh; NH 707 provides a connection between Hatkoti and Paonta Sahib. Another major National Highway connection is NH 109, which joins the entire Kumaon region including Nainital, Kausani, Mukteshwar, Almora, Ranikhet with Delhi. Apart from these national highways, there are many intrastate roads that are well maintained and regularly checked so that travellers have a pleasant trip to Uttarakhand.
