Hailing from Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, A.P.J Abdul Kalam served a major part of his career serving in DRDO & ISRO as a scientist and science coordinator. A.P.J Abdul Kalam also contributed in the Pokhran II test site, India’s first successful nuclear testing.
Known to be an avid science reader, A.P.J Abdul Kalam always promoted scientific studies. Even while serving as the 11th President of India, he focused on the development in the field of science. Popularly known as People’s President, A.P.J Abdul Kalam has the support of public and politicians from all parties. He was nominated as the president by the mutual support of Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party. Even after his presidency, he avidly encouraged youth to take science as their subject major as he believed the nation’s development lies in its scientific developments.
